US MARKET NEWS 5 July, 2016

The major US stock indexes rose modestly on Friday, for a fourth straight day of gains, helped by encouraging US manufacturing data.
The S&P 500 tallied its best week since November, staging a strong rebound from its worst two-day decline in 10 months sparked by Britain's shock vote last week to leave the European Union. The indexes have erased almost all their losses stemming from the "Brexit" vote. "Clearly, people have assessed that either, one, it's not a big deal, or, two, it’s not going to happen at all, and they’re positioning according to those views," said Walter Todd, chief investment officer at Greenwood Capital in Greenwood, South Carolina.

ASIAN MARKET NEWS 4 July, 2016

Asian share markets took a step back on Monday, while the Australian dollar dropped after no clear winner emerged from a weekend election. Activity across much of the region was subdued as investors took stock of the potential economic fallout from the Brexit vote after days of volatile trade, and as US financial and commodity markets will be closed on Monday for the Independence Day holiday. While Australian politics usually have a muted impact on markets, the current situation suggests that possible policy paralysis ahead which could pose a threat to the country's triple A credit rating.
