Sensex ends in green, Nifty in red; Hindalco, SBI shine

The S&P BSE Sensex ended the day on a flat note with war clouds over Yemen and absence for fresh triggers keeping the bulls on the back foot.

The US dollar ended cheaper against the rupee at 62.41/42 per dollar and the pound sterling also finished lower at Rs 92.97/99 per pound at the close of the Interbank Foreign Exchange market today.

The Sensex ended the day at 27,458.64; up 1.06 points. The broader 50-share Nifty closed at 8,341.40; down 0.75 points.
