Asian stocks fall on the back of weak US lead

Shanghai Comp sags 0.4 percent

China's Shanghai Composite index quickly trimmed losses after opening down more than 1 percent at the open.

Among the mainland's other indexes, the CSI300 Index and the Shenzhen Composite sagged 0.6 percent each.
